Once I become a youth delegate I will advance all the number of the UN SDGs, however, there are two which I already dealt with and would like to stress upon further.
The first one is goal number 4. Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Education is a driver of development and democratization. Ukraine’s education system faces longstanding challenges, including low-quality learning, inadequate skills, and deteriorating public trust in education.
The second Goal is number 13 which is a Mitigate climate change impact. Unfortunately, Ukraine is left behind in the field of climate change. The first step in resolving climate change is to improve education, awareness-raising, and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation. Educations is a basement of development which interlinked with all other UN SDGs, and goals 4 and 13 are closely linked.
Investing in youth is also an investment in the future. Youth plays a key role and can be a positive force for development when the knowledge and opportunities they need to thrive are given. The importance is to give opportunities and awareness-raising for youth which can and will create a dynamic force of political change and social transformation.
Youth Councils - In the context of decentralization reform in Ukraine, the participation of young people in the decision-making process is extremely important. It is important first of all for the young people, and for the whole community, and the State as a whole. For the first time, young people received a legal mechanism to participate in the decision-making process and the formation of youth policy at all levels in Ukraine.
Erasmus + program which provides opportunities for a wide range of actions and activities in the fields of education, training, youth, and sport. Greate program for young people for free to study, train, gain experience, and volunteer abroad.
Council of Europe – Youth Delegate Program / Ukrainian Youth Delegate to the United Nations two programs which provide fantastic opportunities for youth to participate and to raise a voice in the debates on international and national levels on the issues on the agenda. It helped to bring up the voice of youth and an impact of it on the next level.
1. I would like to create a network of young people across the country so-called "UN young ambassadors in Ukraine" in every region whose main role will communicate with youth in the region about the UN opportunities for youth, programs developed in Ukraine, United Nations and Sustainable Development Goals. This will provide an opportunity to raise awareness among young people across the country about the UN and Ukraine's work and policies.
2. Plant 50 thousand trees around Ukraine in different regions with young people which will faster goal 13 UN SDGs and help to popularise the environmentalism in Ukraine.
3. Start a campaign across Ukraine where young people will post selfies on Instagram and Facebook with #WeAreUnited and with a paper written "WeAreUnited".
I always wanted to work and represent Ukraine in the international arena and I am also passionate about work with youth, therefore, diplomacy has always been the top area of my interest and, becoming the next Ukrainian Youth Delegate to the UN is a great opportunity for me to unite my dream and passion. I already work with embassies in Ukraine and International bodies which will help me to maximize result from being Ukrainian Youth Delegate to the UN. This program will also give me a great push in my career in international relations as well as will deepen my knowledge on the UN agenda and Ukrainian policies.
I kept developing my career in international relations, diplomacy, and policy-making. Since 2016, I participated in Change the World Model United Nations as a Delegate to The Third Committee of the General Assembly, New York, and as a Delegate to The First Committee of the General Assembly, Abu Dhabi.
